I didn’t start off with big running goals. All I wanted to do was wear green, complete a 5 km St. Paddy’s Day Run, then drink beer at the after party! But running can be addicting for a girl like me that loves a challenge. I’ve now completed numerous races including many trail races and destination races in Florida and New Orleans. I’m thrilled to be instructing for Kintec and hope to show new runners how to find the balance of fitness and fun in their runs!

I started running in April 2010 with the goal of running the Vancouver Sun Run the following year. During my training I found out about the Rock n Roll Half Marathon in Las Vegas in December 2010 - I had to try. I changed my training to be able to run the half and in December I completed my very first half marathon. I have not looked back! I have completed numerous half marathons all over North America, four marathons, one 30k trail race (on a whim) and many 5k and 10k races. I have also been the pace bunny for many half marathons and a couple 10k's. I have led a number of half marathon clinics and I enjoy helping others find the joy of running and reaching their goals. I look forward to running with you!

I’ve been a “ runner” since 2006 when I decided to go out and do the Sun Run without any training, thinking it was just 10km. Let’s just say it was not my favourite day. Since joining my first run clinic in August of 2006, I've ran the Sun Run every year, participated in 5 marathons, 2 ultra-marathons, 2 Ironman triathlons and a ton of shorter races. Running has been a big part of my life since my first Sun Run and I’d be thrilled to help make it a part of yours.

Since 2004, I have run in over 17 marathons, including 9 consecutive Vancouvers, over 20 ultramarathons, and several shorter races. Last summer I ran in my first 100 mile race – the Western States Endurance Run. In my opinion, the beauty of running is that it provides endless amounts of opportunities for a runner to set personal goals – whether they are to improve fitness, to travel to new places, to make new friends, to run faster times, or to achieve any other sort of personal satisfaction.

In late 2008, at 230 pounds, 32 years old, and a 40 cigarette a day smoker, I was given the challenge of running 800 metres; 400 down hill and 400 back up. I worked at it and worked at it until finally I did it. That was the first fitness goal I ever achieved. About 6 months after that I was just below 200 pounds, had quit smoking, and ran my first half marathon. Fast forward nearly 8 years, countless half marathons, 2 marathons, 1 half ironman, and lots of running clinics instructed, here I am! Running has changed my life for the better. It's given me the confidence to set challenging goals knowing that I can work to achieve them, and it's introduced me to some amazing people.

I have been running for 20 years. I have competed in over 500 running events ranging in distance from 400 meters to 550 miles and have also represented Canada 5 times at the World 100km Championships. I have a personal best in the marathon of 2:32:04 but mostly run ultra marathons, 200 of them to be exact! In 2010, I set the Canadian Record for 50 miles on trail in a time of 5:54:15. I have been coaching and teaching clinics for nearly a decade. I love helping people progress as runners and I look forward to running some miles with you!

Bored and needing something to do, I ran the FOXTROT 8K in Downtown Vancouver in 1988. Turns out I was a pretty good runner so I entered the Delta Half Marathon. I did the Vancouver Sun run for several years and my first marathon in 1994 (what is now the Vancouver BMO Marathon). After several marathons, I did my first ultra marathon in 1998 (Diez Vista 50k). As of 2017, I’ve run 52 marathons and 129 ultras all over the world including marathons in Greece, Las Vegas, Leavenworth, Seattle, Whitecourt. Ultras I have run include Western States 100 mile run, Badwater 135 mile run, Joshua Tree 100 mile run, Commrades marathon 91k and many others. I look forward to encouraging novice and seasoned runners and offering advice on running do's and don'ts from my years of experience all the while running on local trails.
