Knee osteoarthritis is a significant public health problem affecting roughly 10% of the Canadian population with a new diagnosis occurring every 60 seconds. The medical literature increasingly recommends that we change how we frame this disease to our patients: less about highlighting structural degeneration and more about encouraging a positive prognosis and removing barriers to movement.
This continuing medical education event will provide an initial pathophysiological overview of osteoarthritis before outlining current best practices for optimizing non-surgical and non-medicinal treatments based on consensus statements and high-level reviews. Lastly, we will use this information to motivate the creation of The Kintec Group's ReActivate program to get your knee OA patients back to achieving their movement goals.
